September 2 First Friday: Downtown for Dogs

The Canton Arts District has gone to the dogs! Grab your friends, family, (and Fido, too!) and join the party at Downtown for Dogs, on September’s First Friday event.

VIP Petcare will be on hand giving away tote bags, leashes, coupons, and Frisbees! For $18, stop in their mobile pet center and get your pup microchipped!

Don’t have a pet? No worries! Adoptable pets will be on the Grapes in a Glass patio between 4 and 6pm.

From 5-8pm, check out the Canton Museum of Art’s newest art exhibition, “Reflected Self: Exploring Expressive Art Through Therapy”, bringing together people who have overcome life challenges.

At 6:30pm, some of our city’s most prestigious men will strut their stuff in high heels for the Walk-A-Mile in Her Shoes event, raising money for the Domestic Violence Project. Registration begins at 5:30pm at Canton Brewing Company.

Fetch a yummy treat at Cultured Coffee & Waffles where a special First Friday waffle will be unveiled!

First Friday means Free Family Movie at the Canton Palace Theatre! Take a stroll through the galleries and studios to see the latest exhibits: The Hub Art Factory will feature Tim Eakin’s Spectacular Beasts–a collection of fantasy creatures from the mind of Canton’s premiere illustration artist; Julz by Alan Rodriguez features work by Erin Mulligan; Canton Creativate hosts creative play for kids in the way of finger puppets and pinwheels; Snarky Art and Journey Studios will be full of sales and surprises, as well as their Community Project: “The Price is Right”; 3rd Space Art Gallery Juilliard Arts Center features work of the Juilliard Arts Center Board members who provide the opportunities for the students throughout the school year; IKON IMAGES The Illustration Gallery’s exhibition Emanations–Charting the Interior Life shows a new way to look at a very ancient way of identifying who we are; Avenue Arts Marketplace and Theatre welcomes Canton Cloth to their marketplace featuring over 40 local artists, live music, and a grab-n-go café.
