FREE CONCERT: The Canton Concert Band will perform at Canton Palace Theatre

On Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at 7:30pm the Canton Concert Band will present a program of light classics, show tunes, popular music, marches and will also feature soloist, Jean Burnquist. Joining the Canton Concert Band will be W. Robert Morrison, organist and choir master for St. Mark’s Episcopal Church and Jay Spencer, the Palace Theatre’s resident organist. Mr. Morrison and Mr. Spencer will play a half-hour concert prelude beginning at 7:00pm. Admission for the concert is free to the public, doors will open at 6:30pm. Visit or for more information.

The program will be led by Mr. Charles Reiman who has performed as a bassist and singer for the Christ Presbyterian Church, the Stark County Fair Band, the John Trapani Band, VOCI and is retired from music education from Jackson Local Schools and Kent State University – Stark Campus.

About the Canton Concert Band
The Canton Concert Band, founded in 1866, holds a unique place in Canton’s history, with roots dating to the post-Civil War Reconstruction Era and the Grand Army Band of the Republic. The Canton Concert Band is comprised of thirty-one professional musicians, each a member of the Canton Local 111 branch of the American Federation of Musicians. In addition to its professional members, the Canton Concert Band is supplemented by a group of outstanding community musicians and a select group of high school and college students. From mid-June through the beginning of August, the Canton Concert Band performs weekly in outdoor venues throughout Stark County, with each concert series hosted by a different esteemed high school or collegiate band director from the Stark County area.
