2nd April Galerie was founded in June 2002 as a fine art gallery to feature the works of Stark County area artists. 2nd April moved to its current location at 324 Cleveland Ave. NW in 2007. In the past six years, owners Brennis Booth and Todd Walburn have broadened the focus of the gallery to include over 20 individual artists’ studio and gallery spaces, as well as performing arts in The Kathleen Howland Theatre located in the lower level. 2nd April Studios include Bad Girlz Designs, Cynthia & Amber Originals, Designs by Dana, Journey Studios, Lynn Digby Studio, Magnum Opus, Sublime, The Dreg Spot, and White Horse Studio. Second April Annex studios include AGoG Teen Art Gallery, Gene Barber Studio, Carolyn R. Jacob Photography, Eulogy Tattoo Art Studio, Jeff Lowe Studios, Rod Hardy, Stella's and The Bored Room.

Hours: Tues. – Fri. 10AM- to 6PM, Sat. 10AM to 5PM, open extended hours First Friday and special events.

ACME artists, 332 Fourth St. NW, is a gallery and working studio featuring contemporary and avant-garde art. Artists in residence are Dylan Atkinson, Mark Ball, Brandon Bowman and Clyde Bowman.

Hours: Mon. – Sat. 11AM to 9PM, or by appointment.

Joseph Saxton Gallery of Photography, located at 520 Cleveland Ave. NW , opened in a historically significant, century-old arts & crafts style building in 2009. The gallery offers original prints by significant photographers, including Alfred Steiglitz, Annie Leibowitz and Edward Weston, chronologically exhibited for sale. Also on view are early examples of photography such as tintypes, daguerreotypes and ambrotypes.

Anderson Creative
is a gallery and working creative studio at 331 Cleveland Ave. NW . Kevin Anderson is a working artist, with a passion for creating practically anything three dimensionally, see his portfolio at www.andersonkevin.com. The gallery space features local art on a rotating basis.

Artists' Studios

 
BZTAT Art Adventures Studios at 336 Fourth St. NW specializes in whimsical drawings, paintings and prints of cats, dogs and other companion animals. Artist Vicki Boatwright, known as “BZTAT” (pronounced bee-zee-tat) also creates art and murals that address social issues, community development and cultural diversity.

Hours: Open First Friday, by chance or by appointment.

Bliss Studio at 334 Fourth St. NW is the working studio of artistPaint Palette Tiffany Marsh and a unique gallery space featuring a variety of art by Tiffany, Jimmie Bowman and current & former Canton area artists.

at 340 Fourth St. NW is a working art studio shared by Marcy Axelband, Joseph Close and Robert Dubec.

Lynda Tuttle’s Art Center, located at 209 Sixth St. NW, offers group art classes, individual instruction, workshops and open studio opportunities. Art integrated curriculum development and art intervention programs are available for educators, counselors, schools & organizations. Lynda is passionate about furthering personal growth & education through the arts for various learning, socioeconomic and cultural needs.

Hours: Open studio for teens & adults Wed. 9AM to 12noon & Thurs. 5PM to 9PM, First Friday and special events, call for additional extended hours for classes.

Ohio Arts and Crafts Guild is a non-profit network of artists and crafters working together since 1963 to preserve and promote the arts in Ohio and nationwide. The OACG office and gallery, at 338 Fourth St. NW, features members’ works in a variety of artistic and craft-based media.
