It’s going to take some Concentration for you not be in Jeopardy, unless you Make a Deal to find a Love Connection or better yet, avoid a Family Feud at the April 4 First Friday, themed – you guessed it — Games People Play.

Plan your strategy for maximum fun as you compete in the Canton Arts District Scavenger Hunt starting at the downtown ArtsinStark office, 308 4th Street. Play as a team or on your own, with a cell phone and a sense of adventure as you’ll be challenged to the far corners of the District from Lynda Tuttle’s Art Center, to the Hub, to the Canton Club, to Elemental Arts and back to Carpe Diem. Hint: Wear comfortable shoes.

Then stomp along with the students at Canton Country Day as they do interpretive dance at the Saxton Gallery, alongside Ryan Humbert performing tunes from his album, “Sometimes the Game Plays You.” Kick it with skater art at George’s, take a gamble with the “House of Horde,” Judi Krew’s couture exhibit at Translations and solve the mystery of who’s more talented as you visit all the shops and galleries including Journey, 2nd April, Feather your Nest and the Thirteenth Floor.

Can’t wait to spin the wheel? Start at the 5:30 First Stop at the Canton Museum of Art featuring the work of Erin Mulligan and the Stark County High School Art Exhibition, plus a prize packed game of Pictionary. Then head to Timken High School for the Showcase Showdown a.k.a. Battle of the Brush, the annual middle and high school competition with this year’s featured artist being Barbara Rogers, returning alum.

Advance to GO and hear the latest from Blackgrass Baptism, Kevin Conaway, The Framoogie Experience and Chris Reins as they spin the wheel of sensational sound at various venues. Then, blame the butler if you miss “Clue,” the free flick at the Palace.

Buying Art wins you cash. Dining locally feeds your soul. Listening in tunes you in. And coming down brings you up.

Ah, the Games People Play. WINNING! April 4 in the Canton Arts District.

First Friday is sponsored by Stark Community Foundation and presented by the downtown Canton Special improvement District and, of course, ArtsinStark.
